Bharat Bharat was the first newspaper published from Rewa state of Madhya Pradesh. This newspaper was published by Lal Baldev Singh, the Rewa government bought this newspaper in the year 1902. Lal Baldev Singh bought the printing press from Calcutta in the year 1887 and brought it to Rewa, at that time Rewa state was one of the most backward areas of the country. Therefore, the publication of this newspaper was full of challenges, the publication of Bharat Bharat continued uninterrupted from April 1887 to 1902, this newspaper was not regional but global. From which the critique of decisions taken in Britain regarding India was also printed. Bharat Bhaarata Press later came to be known as Darbar Press. Now it is called the Government Press which is located near the Jaistambh Chowk of Rewa. When the former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chauhan laid the foundation stone of the street building of National Press in Jai Stambh Chowk, then the beloved MLA of Rewa, currently the Medical Health Minister of the Madhya Pradesh Government and Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla had said in his address that the new generation would hardly be surprised that this complex also has a glorious history of the world of journalism. Senapati Lal Baldev Singh of Reema State, Devraj Nagar family established the first printing press of Rewa and started the publication of a newspaper called Bharat Bhaarata. The publication of Bharat Bharat from Rewa was a historic event in the Hindi journalism world. With its nationalist thinking and energetic workers, it is called the first political newspaper of the country. The great editor Dharamvir Bharti had written in Dharmyug that the coming generation would hardly believe that a general published such a fast and successful newspaper from a small place like Rewa. Which awakened the political independence of the country. The publication of Bharat Bharat continued from April 1887 to 1902, Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla announced the naming of the auditorium after the father of journalism Lal Baldev Singh in a program organized on 20/9/2024 at Makhanlal Chaturvedi National Journalism University Rewa.
